Process

The Applicants

We have partnered with Uniplan which is a registered Filipino recruiting Agency. Uniplan have been sourcing staff for Australia and Canada for many years and consequently have a good understanding of labour markets similar to New Zealand. Uniplan’s fair and ethical practice in regards to their applicants is also important to us.

The Process – Construction and other workers

Job applicants are initially assessed by the overseas agency and then shortlisted candidates are interviewed by ADD Workers via Skype. The format being for them to discuss their work experience, generally and specifically, utilising photographs of projects they have been involved in.
About one in ten applicants from those who initially apply are selected, with their resumes and recorded interviews being made available to employers.
For the record, we have had awesome feedback from employers in regard to the effectiveness of the recorded interviews when selecting migrant workers.
Employers are welcome to re-interview any shortlisted applicants themselves.

The Process - Dairy Farm Workers

We have implemented an assessment programme for dairy farm workers in conjunction with Mr Neil Molina, who is a recent “Otago Dairy Farm Manager of the Year” award recipient, and Mr Ray Vegara in the Philippines.
Applicants are videoed while being trade tested performing various tasks such as speaking in English, cupping cows, stock handling, riding bikes, driving tractors, fencing etc and the videoed trade tests made available for employers to view.
Dairy farm applicants typically have work experience from places such as Saudi Arabia, Japan and/or the Philippines.

The Process - Immigration

Alan Dyer is a fully licensed Immigration Adviser. Once an applicant receives a confirmed job offer from a New Zealand employer, then Alan is able to manage the immigration process. This involves advising the employer and applicant on putting together a set of documents that make up the job offer and visa application to be submitted to Immigration New Zealand.
